Church Partnerships
Put your coffee to work.
So, your church is made of people. People drink coffee. Instead of serving whatever is trendy or popular, serve a coffee that saves lives AND tastes exceptional! Award-Winning Silver Cup Coffee has teamed up with World Vision to create The One Cup Project with the goal of doing the work of the Lord through for profit enterprise, and inspiring other companies to do the same.
How it works – 2 ways to get your church involved
1. Your church’s coffee -
For every pound of coffee your church congregation buys from One Cup at wholesale prices (see price list), $1.27 (James 1:27) will be donated to World Vision and multiplied by the 5.5x matching grant for the C-FAARM project in Zambia.
So a total of $8 of aid is sent directly to those in Africa afflicted with hunger and disease, and lacking clean drinking water and basic medical care. You buy a pound of coffee for $8* and $8 goes to charitable work. Not a bad deal.
*To keep up with a very volatile world coffee market, we have adjusted some of our pricing. See our wholesale price list here for more information on current wholesale prices.
2. Your member’s coffee -
Better yet, if your congregation is really committed to playing a significant role in this change, you can make the biggest impact by encouraging every one of your members to buy their coffee for home use at www.onecup.org where $2 of every bag is donated to WV and again multiplied by 5.5x to send $11 in aid to Africa. We estimate that each 100 congregants, with full participation, on average could generate $5000 in aid. But let’s face it, even $500 would be fantastic! The point is, you don’t spend any more than you’re already spending.
We ask that you prayerfully consider joining The One Cup Project today! To partner with us, Email us, and we’ll get you all set up.
A Little Note on “More-Than-Profit” Enterprise
It may seem that all of the good that is done in the world is done by non-profit organizations. We applaud these hard fought efforts, and we believe the biggest opportunity yet lies in the commercial arena. What this means, is that we have the power to change things by the way we spend our money. We can give it to companies whose sole motivation is to rack up obscene profits to the detriment of most everything else. Or, we can funnel those same funds to a company that is dedicated to making a difference. Call it “Cause Based Commerce”.
You might ask – what does the company stand to gain? Well, they stand to profit, as they should. Good stewardship should be profitable, so more companies will want to do it. That is what we aim to demonstrate. The most powerful vote we have is not the one electing a politician to advocate for us. It is the vote we cast with our wallets. Be an agent of change.
